1. Can I use your image on my website/livejournal/as a present/role-playing?
Sure, as long as the images are used for strictly non-profit purposes and are not digitally altered. If you do intend to alter it, contact me first. Also, please do not use the images for role-playing. If you'd like a button or banner to link to Edgeworlds, you can find it under the Gateways section.

2. Do you sell any prints or original artwork?
Neither; I'm a believer in creator's ownership, and I don't like banking on someone else's idea. However, if you're interested in purchasing some of my original work, you can find it at the Sairyn Store.

3. I just love [insert popular character here] to bits! Please please could you draw him/her for me????!!!
Sorry, I don't do requests.

4. Ew, why did you have to draw [insert odd pairing here]?!?! That’s just gross!
Please leave the 'shipping arguments to yourselves, thanks.

5. How come you don’t draw slash?
Because I choose not to. ~_^!

6. Why don’t you have more colored art?
I'm the kind of artist that likes to take their time when making a picture. I'll post more when my schedule permits.

7. Who are your favorite artists?
That's a broad question :) If you haven't read the ABOUT section yet, my favorite artists are the Frouds, the Brothers Hildebrandt, Michael Whelan, and just recently, Alan Lee. I'm extremely interested in the art of the Pre-Raphaelites, great Rennaisance Masters, Alphonse Mucha, early 20th-Century Illustrators like Dean Cornwell, NC Wyeth, Howard Pyle, Arthur Rackham, children's book illustrators Scott Gustafson, David Wiesner, KY Craft, and contemporary artist Daniel Merriam. I tend to favor fantastic imagery with heavy storytelling and clear, crisp illustration.

8. Favorite writers?
Hm, this'll take something thinking....I love fairy-tales, especially Grimm's Fairy-Tales and stuff from Hans Christen Anderson. Great material. Susan Cooper's great, CS Lewis and Madeline L'Engle are awesome, and I love David Eddings' character-driven stories in his Belgeriad and Mallorean series.

9. Favorite fanfic artists?
Definitely the Brothers Hildebrandt, Alan Lee and John Howe for their interpretations of the LOTR characters. :) For other artwork, however, I do enjoy looking at Marta's work (others will know her site, http://www.artdungeon.net).

10. Favorite fanfic writers?
I think the one that touched me the most was uber grasshopper's "A Tabby & Her Kit" story. The storyline and character interactions were very charming, and who could resist reading about a baby Harry?

11. Who’s your favorite character to draw?
Dark Phoenix. The original 70's version, not the newfangled ones these pseudo-Marvel writers are trying to ressurrect for the umpteenth time. Any character that devours whole suns and planets without giving a crap is just plain awesome. < end geeky fit >

12. What tools do you use to draw/paint with?
I use regular pencils and paper when I'm sketching, but for painting I use watercolors because they're inexpensive and relatively non-toxic. For brushes I use the Winsor & Newton and Isabey brands. Paints I use are Winsor & Newton, Old Holland, Holbein, and Grumbacher Academy.

13. Do you use images for reference?
No, unless the image uses mechanical or architectural elements.

14. How long does it take for you to finish a sketch?
It depends on the complexity. Sometimes a sketch will take 10 minutes, sometimes a whole day. Usually I'll fill up about three to four pages worth of sketches in an hour.

15. What’s your process?
This is actually better explained under the TUTORIALS section.

16. Do you have any tutorials?
Yep, you can click on the link at the top of this page.

17. Are there any books that you would recommend to beginners?
Getting books on that explains the basics of drawing (ie: composition, perspective, human anatomy, colour, etc) is a must. Comprehensive books that I'd reccomend would be:

.....ANDREW LOOMIS: Figures in Action (How to Draw and Paint series #191)
.....GEORGE B. BRIDGEMAN: Bridgman's Life Drawing
.....STEPHEN ROGERS PECK: Atlas of Human Anatomy for the Artist
..... D. C. DUBOSQUE, DOUG DUBOSQUE : Draw 3-D: A Step by Step Guide to Perspective Drawing
.....Ian Sidaway : Color Mixing Bible: All You'll Ever Need to Know About Mixing Pigments in Oil, Acrylic, Watercolor, Gouache, Soft Pastel, Pencil, and Ink
.....MICHAEL WILCOX : Color Mixing Swatch Book

18. Are you a professional artist?
Yes, I've been working as an illustrator since 2002.

19. Did you have any formal training?
Yep, I've had about 8 years of formal training, the latter of which were spent studying illustration.
